Four local high school alumni have returned from their respective colleges to coach the Snohomish Aquatic Center’s Piranhas Summer Swim Team. These accomplished swimmers, who once graced the very lanes they will now coach in, are excited to mentor a new generation of athletes.

Kendall Bensen, Garrett Chesley, Noah Henderson, and Keegan Lisenby are all former Snohomish swim team locals who have continued their swimming careers at their prospective colleges across the county and are now bringing their expertise and enthusiasm back to their hometown pool.

Garrett Chesley currently swims at Whitworth University in Spokane. Like the other coaches, he is excited to see this young group of swimmers come together this summer for fun and competition. All the coaches have their fingers crossed for potential individual and team conference titles as well.

“We have so many new recruits and I’m excited to see some fast, competitive swimming this season,” Chelsey said.

The Summer Swim Team season kicks off next week and with such a dynamic coach team, the season is sure to see growth, achievement, and plenty of fun.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have these talented individuals return to coach,” said Chris Bensen, Snohomish Aquatic Center facility supervisor. “Their passion and knowledge are invaluable, and they serve as fantastic role models for our young swimmers.”

There’s still time to register for the Piranhas Swim Team if interested. This team is for youth ages 6 to 18. The team includes a seven-week practice season with the opportunity to compete in four swim meets in the area among other local teams. For more information and registration, please click here.
