Adaptive Swim Lesson Program
Tailored for children with special needs, our goal with our Adaptive Swim Lessons is to foster water safety and swimming skills at each student's pace. Whether aiming to transition to group lessons or continuing to benefit from personalized instruction, our program accommodates diverse learning styles and rates of progress. We prioritize open communication with students, families, and aides to ensure a supportive and patient experience.
Our Recreation Pool has a zero depth/wheelchair accessible water entry, and is equipped with an aquatic wheelchair, and an aquatic lift chair, as well as stairs, handrails, and an underwater bench for seated exercises.
If your child is age 6 or under and looking for water playtime, we also offer Sensory Beach. Sensory Beach is for children with sensory sensitivities and is held on Sundays from 9 a.m.- noon.

Lesson Information
- Adaptive Swim Lessons are booked in sets of four, with one lesson per week on the same day and at the same time.
- The classes are 25 minutes long with a 5-minute consultation, if needed/desired.
- Each set of four lessons is $40.
Lesson Make-Ups
We understand that circumstances and plans can change and will grant you a full refund of your program fee if you cancel your student’s initial registration for a session prior to the first lesson day of that session. No refund will be provided in connection with any cancellation made after the first lesson of a session has begun.
Please understand that when you enroll your student in lessons, you are reserving a slot in a program that is in high demand and which could be filled by other students. As a result, your payment for reserving a slot in that program will be retained by the Snohomish Aquatic Center even if your student does not attend any lessons provided in the session.
All students enrolled in private lessons who choose to cancel or reschedule an appointment with four or more hours advance notice will now be subject to a rescheduling fee of $16/student per private lesson and $8/student per semi-private lesson. Frequent cancellations or rescheduling requests may result in losing your lesson spot, as these make it impossible for our instructors to maintain a consistent schedule.
Whether group or private lessons, it is your responsibility to make sure vacations, appointments, and other activities do not interfere with your attendance at any of the lessons in a session for which you have enrolled your student(s).
